ARRANGEMENTS, ORCHESTRATION & NEW WORK COMMISSIONS
Existing scores, custom arrangements and orchestrations, adaptations for different ensembles, and commissioned new works for orchestras, jazz orchestras, big bands, chamber groups, and professional or educational projects.

ARTISTIC COLLABORATIONS
Rooted in Brazilian musical cultures, jazz, and concert music, I create original works, arrangements, and orchestrations for orchestras, jazz orchestras, big bands, chamber groups, soloists, and recording projects. My collaborations have involved student, university, and professional groups in Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Each project begins with its own musical context. It may involve an existing score, the adaptation of previously created material, a new arrangement or orchestration, or an original composition developed for a particular group, artist, concert, or recording.
WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
EXISTING SCORES AND PERFORMANCE MATERIALS
A selection of my original works and previously created arrangements may be available for performance, rental, or licensing. Availability depends on the work, the instrumentation, the intended use, and any rights connected to the underlying composition.
ADAPTATIONS AND REORCHESTRATIONS
An existing score can sometimes be adapted for a different ensemble, instrumentation, duration, soloist, or performance context. These projects begin with an evaluation of the available materials and the musical changes required.
NEW ARRANGEMENTS AND ORCHESTRATIONS
I create new arrangements and orchestrations for symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, jazz orchestra, big band, and hybrid ensembles. This work can begin with an existing song, composition, lead sheet, piano score, recording, or other source material, subject to the permissions required for the project.
COMMISSIONING NEW ORIGINAL WORKS
I also compose new works for orchestras, jazz orchestras, big bands, chamber groups, soloists, festivals, universities, and cultural institutions. Each commission is developed in dialogue with the artistic purpose, performers, instrumentation, duration, schedule, and performance context of the project.
EXISTING SCORES & PERFORMANCE MATERIALS
Selected original compositions and arrangements may already have scores and performance materials that can be evaluated for a new concert, recording, educational project, or other authorized use.
Some materials can also serve as the starting point for a new version created for another formation. If you are looking for a particular title, composer, artist, style, or instrumentation, please contact me even if the work is not currently listed on the site.
Arrangements of music by other composers are subject to the rights and permissions attached to the underlying work. Availability, rental, licensing, and adaptation are therefore confirmed individually for each project.
ARTISTIC APPROACH
I approach composition, arrangement, and orchestration as interconnected forms of musical creation. Brazilian rhythmic and melodic traditions, jazz language, concert music, orchestral color, and ensemble interaction inform a practice developed through close work with performers, conductors, artists, producers, and institutions.
Whether a project begins with an existing piece or a new musical idea, the writing must respond to the musicians and the performance context while preserving artistic coherence, rhythmic identity, orchestral clarity, and, when relevant, space for improvisation within the musical language.

MUSICAL LANGUAGES & REPERTOIRE
My work encompasses Brazilian music, jazz, and concert music, both as distinct traditions and as musical territories that can enter into dialogue. A project may focus entirely on one of these areas or explore relationships among them through composition, arrangement, orchestration, and ensemble interaction.
Brazilian music is an important area of specialization within this broader practice. My experience includes Brazilian popular music with orchestra, contemporary instrumental music, orchestral tributes, artist-led collaborations, and original projects in which Brazilian rhythmic language shapes the writing itself.
I also write for jazz orchestra and big band, develop original concert works, and create arrangements and orchestrations that are not connected to Brazilian repertoire. In every case, the musical language and writing approach are defined by the repertoire, the performers, and the artistic purpose of the project rather than by a single stylistic category.

RECORDING & PRODUCTION COLLABORATIONS
My work also includes collaborations involving recording sessions, live recordings, audiovisual productions, concert broadcasts, and large ensemble studio productions.
Selected collaborations include projects connected to:
-
PBS broadcasts
-
TV Cultura productions
-
Jazz at Lincoln Center livestreams
-
orchestral recording sessions
-
contemporary Brazilian music productions
-
hybrid chamber orchestra recordings
-
large ensemble audiovisual productions

WORKING PROCESS
Every collaboration begins with the artistic goals of the musicians or institution involved. We first identify whether the project requires an existing score, an adaptation, a new arrangement or orchestration, or an original composition.
The scope is then defined according to the repertoire, instrumentation, duration, performers, schedule, performance context, available source materials, and required permissions. Depending on the project, my work may also involve score and part preparation, communication with the conductor or soloists, rehearsal planning, music direction, conducting, or recording supervision.
This process allows the musical writing and the practical requirements of the project to be developed together, with a clear understanding of the materials and responsibilities involved.
COMMISSIONING NEW ORIGINAL WORKS
I accept selected commissions for original music for orchestras, jazz orchestras, big bands, chamber groups, soloists, universities, festivals, and cultural institutions. A commission may be created for a concert, recording, residency, anniversary, educational initiative, or longer-term artistic project.
The form, duration, instrumentation, schedule, and performance context are developed in dialogue with the commissioning group or artist. This work continues the same artistic practice represented throughout my catalog while allowing a new composition to emerge from the particular possibilities of each collaboration.
PROJECT INQUIRIES
To inquire about an existing score, an adaptation, a new arrangement or orchestration, or an original composition, please include any information already available about the repertoire, instrumentation, ensemble, event date, location, number of performances, intended use, and desired delivery schedule.
Projects at an early stage are also welcome. If some of these details have not yet been decided, the initial conversation can help determine the most appropriate path.
