AN INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
It is time for a new orchestral recording project!
Do you want to join me?
Inspired by "Danças da Quarentena" (2020), I decided to take this kind of remote recording collaboration one step further. My goal is to create a series of large ensemble remote recordings exploring different musical aesthetics that are part of my history as a composer.
Modern big band music, jazz symphonic Brazilian music, and classical orchestral music.
I'm inviting advanced music students (college level) and professional musicians to join me in this ambitious recording project planned for the second semester of 2021.
Project focused on professional orchestral & jazz musicians.
(but I will also include singers and amateur musicians in one track! read below)
Are you an amateur musicians and want to participate? I have a special invitation for you!
WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE DOING? WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
We will be doing a series of remote orchestral recordings to be premiered on various social media platforms. The final format is still to be decided, likely a series of YouTube premieres and/or an online concert combining all recordings.
The goal is to create a remarkable international collaboration, connect musicians around the globe, engage an interested audience, and feature participants in various ways.
The idea is to make it more than just a recording project. I want to tell a story about how we can make orchestral music remotely. The idea is to build online momentum around the music we do.
I'm looking forward to creating an interesting and unique experience for us and for our fans/followers.
The social media aspect will play a big part in this project and I expect participants to be active "storytellers".
IS THERE ANY COST OR FEE TO PARTICIPATE?
No. Your participation is voluntary and I will not charge anything for you to participate in this project.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM ME?
This will be my main artistic project for this year, so you can expect a lot of care and work from my side.
You can expect new original music written for this project.
You can expect me to be sharing and promoting this project heavily.
You can expect me to create high-quality audio mixes and videos from the recordings you will send me (you can listen to Danças da Quarentena as an example).
You can expect me to present these recordings as case studies to my music students and feature them in many social platforms and future videos.
WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM YOU?
Be able to play at a professional level.
Be able to record your part using appropriate equipment (semi-professional or professional gear).
Send your recordings in time (with video) following our recording schedule.
Be part of our online history and be active on social platforms. I expect you to share your story as a participant in this project.
By participating you agree that all the material you send me (audio and video) I will be used to create mixes, video edits, and you understand that I will be posting these materials on various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and website.
HOW MUCH TIME IT WILL TAKE?
It depends on how efficient you are at recording.
We will be recording between 25-50 minutes of music (divided among 3 ensemble types).
Plan on dedicating a few minutes here and there to engage with us on social media and share your experience.
HOW CAN YOU JOIN?
It is simple. Fill the registration form below and I will contact you soon.
My goal is to get everybody (who register) involved in the project, but since this year I'm using traditional ensemble structures (classical orchestra, big band, and jazz symphonic orchestra), I will have to select and assign players according to the available positions.
